WW2 RCAF Escape Button with Concealed Compass

A very rare escape compass concealed within an RCAF button. Designed my MI9 during the war to aid airmen in their escape if shot down over enemy territory.

The back of the button unscrews from the front portion and conceals a small compass inside which is affixed to the button shank.

The threads on this are very fine and you must be gentle to get them lined up correctly without cross threading them.
