WW1 Canadian Engineers Brodie Helmet

A Brodie shell with painted insignia to the front which I believe is the cap badge of the Canadian Engineers. The helmet is missing all the internals, including one of the chinstrap securing D rings. Someone has given the shell a coat of clear varnish which makes it appear rather shiny. The original finish is an early war blue/grey colour.
