WW1 CASC Tunics Grouping - Capt Johnson, Military Cross
A fine offering of two tunics to Capt (previously Lieut) FEH Johnson, MC. Comprising of his summer weight tan tunic and winter weight khaki wool tunic. The khaki tunic has a maker label inside the pocket with his details (Lieut).
The tunics have CASC CEF buttons, Capt rank, embroidered Canadas, and four year service chevrons including the Red Chevron for 1914 enlistmend. The kahki tunic displays ribbons for an MC and 1914/15 star whilst the tan tunic only has the MC ribbon.
Some scattered mothing but these look excellent!!
His listing in the MC awards books says: Johnson, Frank Edward Harte, LT. CASC. 01/01/17. New Year award 1917. No citation. I suspect that this translates to a much deserved award for hard work/service through the trials of the Somme.
Worthy of much more research.
