WW1 German Gas Mask and Can

The can has been painted Feld Grau over black and retains the strap (although tattered somewhat with a break). Inside the can is the paper instructions and a spare set of eye pieces in the top. The Gas Mask is of leather construction and pliable with all straps present. The filter is rusted with a crack but complete. A scarce item to find and came with the 1917 canteen listed separately.
